Irit Noble to Emcee at Kenya’s Black Peacock Ball

The Women’s VoiceIrit Noble is going to be heading to Kenya for Peak Performances on 29 November to Emcee at an event hosted by the Women’s Voice trust called The Black Peacock Ball. We were very excited when Angie got the contracts in and everything was finalized, because this is another exciting exploration into corporate Africa that we are proud of, never mind that Irit was first choice and requested by the client!

Irit in whiteThis inaugural charity ball in Nairobi, is inspired by the proud and magnificent women of Africa, and they have promised that a whole lot of glamour will be thrown together to create a potent mix for one of the years most fashionable events, where real women will be celebrated.

And who better than Irit, to do it in style! Continue reading ‘Irit Noble to Emcee at Kenya’s Black Peacock Ball’

Andre the Hypnotist gave us a private show!

Andre visits Peak PerformancesLast week the Peak team was special guests of Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist at the Baxter Theatre for another highly successful run of his Hypnosis show, and what a wonderful night we had! It was so good, that we even made sure that Andre and his sound guy, Rudi, came to spend a wonderful spring afternoon of lunch and some fun the following day!

Andre at Montecasino Although Andre’s run in Cape Town is over, he will be appearing at Monte Casino from the 20th to 31st of August, and so if you think that you have nothing better to do, you are very mistaken! You just have to go and see what Andre gets his audiences to do for you, and believe me; the volunteers almost fight their way down to the stage to get put under – even if it means they become the show and miss most of it in a state of mental bliss! Irit Nobles Enrichment Events for Women (of both sexes!)

The lovely Irit NobleOne of our favourite ladies, inspirational entertainer Irit Noble sent through this short message inviting all Cape Town ladies to a fun-filled evening and enrichment event. She popped into the office recently to tell my girls more about it, but I think it’s better to just put her note out there than to try and explain it myself!

Hi Honey…

For the past seventeen years I have been in the public eye through stage, television, radio and print media, and as some of you know, I used to be quite the ‘bad girl’…  but oh, how things have changed! Over the past 6 years I have gone through some wonderful transformations, and now it is my passion, my pleasure and my privilege to present Enrichment Events For Women (of both sexes), in which I offer you the ideas I have implemented to bring me to a space of love, abundance, creativity and lots of shoes! Music for Timbuktu’s ancient manuscripts

Timbuktu buildingsOne of the wonders of the world are the manuscripts that are held in Timbuktu in Mali; treasures that at a time in history, made Africa a major centre of learning for Islamic scholars. South Africa is very involved in the preservation of these priceless documents, and we are lucky enough that Angie was able to get us invites to the launch of a South African exhibition Timbuktu Scripts & Scholarships at the Castle of Good Hope tonight.

Iziko Invitation We are providing an exciting musical combination of Pops Mohamed with Dizu Plaatjies; two of South Africa’s music masters, to play a variety of traditional African instruments at the exhibition opening being hosted by Minister of Arts & Culture Dr. Pallo Jordan. There are going to be a couple of other Ministers attending, and possibly even President Thabo Mbeki, as this is a project the office of the President is involved in and supposedly passionate about. But I am hoping to hear tonight what has actually been achieved, because as Germany’s Der Spiegel says “The government of South Africa promised to build a library in Timbuktu years ago, but nothing ever came of it.” Continue reading ‘Music for Timbuktu’s ancient manuscripts’
