I got some very awesome news this morning from Frank Paco and Muriel Marco – Tucan Tucan’s song “Esa Morena” (which is featured on their Press Kit page), has been selected as finalist in The International Songwriting Competition in the world music category.

This is an amazing achievement, as the finalists were chosen from over 15,000 entrants from all over the world. This is the #1 songwriting competition in the world, with US$ 150 000 in prize money which is split between 62 winners (good time to them Dollars Frank - can get yourself a nice generator!)

Tucan Tucan’s ‘Conga Loca’ and ‘Slow Jam’ are featured soundtracks for the South African movie ‘Confessions of a Gambler‘. This movie has premiered in Dubai with great reviews and it will be showing in Cinema Nouveau circuit in South Africa and American cinemas in 2008.

Tucan Tucan will also be heard in MIDEM! Tracks ‘Slow Jam’ and ‘Miela’ have been chosen to be part of the MIDEM sampler compiled by the Association of Independent Record Companies South Africa.
