Chris Chameleon films new DVD!

Chris ChameleonI wanted to post an update after Chris Chameleon’s very successful tour in the Benelux countries in November 2007. He performed 25 shows in 6 weeks; including various shows in which he opened for the popular Dutch band SPINVIS. Chris has been performing in the Netherlands for the past 10 years and he says that this has been his most rewarding tour up to date.

The record deal with Excelsior Recordings in the Netherlands makes a huge difference in terms of furthering an awareness and distribution of Chris’s music. Performing with SPINVIS in large theaters ensured a new and growing audience. The reception was fantastic and Chris’s Cd’s flew from the shelves. Reviews in various publications in the Netherlands praised Chris as an “exceptional” artist: Continue reading ‘Chris Chameleon films new DVD!’

Watershed around the country

WatershedMonday 17 December was Reconciliation Day in SA, spilling over from Sunday 16th, and the Peak Team went off to the BMW Pavilion to watch one of the offices favourite bands, Watershed, who were on a national tour.

Most people, who heard Indigo Girl for the first time, felt an immediate attraction to the group and after 8-years Watershed still has it in them to grab hold of the audience and make the girls swoon (isn’t that a lovely way of describing those wobbly knees?). 10 Years of Krushed & Sorted!

FletcherTonight Krushed & Sorted (African Dope Records) are performing at The Assembly in Harrington Street to celebrate 10 years of making the funkiest music!

You better come down and party with Cape Town’s most dysfunctional DJ crew as they celebrate 10 years since they first played together in the chill room at a Carl Cox rave. Since then it’s been non-stop slacking off and working at their pace behind the scenes to bring you the finest underground electronic music that South Africa has to offer. Peak gigs

Peak beats the DrumThis is the first of the Peak Gigs posts, in which I let you know which of our artists are going to be appearing at events through the agency. The girls in the office work very hard at getting bookings, and though the events aren’t open to the public, unless stated, its good to know who is getting out there, entertaining South Africa! Van Coke Kartel launch

Van Coke KartelOn Thursday 29 November the Van Coke Kartel launched its debut album, by the same name, at Mercury Lounge in Cape Town, and the Peakers were there to witness the raw energy of this Afrikaans Rock group. This three-piece outfit is made up of Fokofpolisiekar’s Francois Van Coke (singer) and Wynand Myburgh (bassist) with session drummer Justin Kruger – these guys really know how to rock!

Van Coke Kartel CDWe were invited to the launch by Rhythm Records, who has some of the most outstanding artists on their roster; Chris Chameleon who is like an award factory; Fokofpolisiekar who are still around, just exploring different formats; Kobus! which is some of the most serious Metal to come out of SA; and now the newly formed Van Coke Kartel. Continue reading ‘Van Coke Kartel launch’
